About the Shields Fort Room
Relax on the comfortable bed and watch your favorite TV show or use the in-room WiFi and connect to your personal computer if duty calls, but only if you must!!
Named for Shields’ Fort, the first settlement in this area, which was built by Sarah’s mother’s ancestors just a few miles from the inn. This pioneering family consisted of ten brothers and one sister. They fought off Cherokee and wild animals to survive in this pristine location. Be sure to see the family tree in the common area.
Many of the furnishings in this room were passed down through the Shields’ family.
