About the Elkmont Room

Enjoy watching your favorite TV show while in the comfort of this huge bed or do your nightly e-mail checks with the convenience of free in-room WIFI. This room has a private bathroom with a shower/tub combination and a view of the herb gardens just outside the window. Leave your bathroom window open in the spring and summer to enjoy the sweet garden smells of rosemary,  lavender, and sage.

This room is named after the Elkmont Community, which now inside the National Park boundary. This was the heart of the logging industry and where Norman’s dad grew up and learned to play the fiddle.  Elkmont gradually evolved into a haven for the socially prominent and wealthy members of Knoxville, Maryville, and Chattanooga, where they built summer cottages. Today, Elkmont is primarily a campground within the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. The peacefulness you will find there is unsurpassed. The trail along the river is beautiful. Early June brings the magical synchronized lighting bugs to this area.
